Carver Lake Park

Carver Lake Park is a beautiful wooded area that offers miles of recreation trails. It also has a playground, picnic areas and a beach.

The city of Woodbury is working on some improvements to the park this summer. Some of the projects include parking lot and road striping, drainage, clean up work and speed control. A great post ahead.

The Lake

Carver Lake is a small, deep lake that outlets to Fish Creek in Woodbury and is used for swimming. This lake is an important regional amenity and borders Carver Lake Park, which is heavily used for picnicking and hiking.

The lake has a large, clean swimming beach. It is unguarded and has nearby restrooms, parking and play features.

For bikers, there’s a sweet off-road trail in the park that is managed by Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists (MORC). The off-road trail is designed to be more challenging than a standard bike path and has added features such as wood pump track, dirt pump humps and raised obstacles.

It’s a fun mix of easy and intermediate, flowy singletrack with super fun features and zippy downhill rips thrown in for good variety. The trails aren’t too technical and are great for beginner mountain bikers. The bike playground is a great place to practice and hone skills before tackling the more challenging sections inside the park.

The Beach

The beach at Carver Lake Park is a great place to splash around on a hot summer day. It is a sandy, family friendly area with a small sand play feature and a few picnic tables.

There is also a decent sized playground near the beach with a wood chip floor, climbing rock and “tunnel” arch. There is also a volleyball court and green space to spread out a blanket or enjoy a picnic.

It is also a nice place to bike with 5 miles of off-road single track. This trail is a partnership between the City of Woodbury and local mountain bikers.

The main attraction here is the lake, but the beach is a fun spot for swimming and fishing. There are no lifeguards on duty but the beach is large and clean with nearby restrooms, parking and play features. The lake is 36 feet deep and is a great place to fish for bluegill, crappie, northern pike and largemouth bass. A great place to also visit is Lakefront Park.

The Playground

The playground at Carver Lake Park Woodbury MN is a great place for kids to get outdoors and enjoy some fun. This facility has a wide variety of play equipment for all ages, and is designed to be a safe place for children to develop their motor skills.

Located next to the 5-mile off-road bike trail, this playground was built and maintained by volunteers from the Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists organization. The playground has four designated areas to provide a full progression of riding and learning, including a bicycle playground (balance bikes), tot track, pump track and an advanced skills loop with technical trail features.

The bike trails at Carver Lake are a fun mix of easy and intermediate singletrack with zippy downhill rips. This playground is a great place for beginners to start hone their mountain biking skills before moving on to the trails inside the forest.

The Trails

If you’re a fan of off-road biking, Carver Lake Park is one of the best spots in Woodbury to get your fix. This park has a nice trail system for mountain bikers with lots of stacked loops and added features that make the trails more challenging than a standard bike path.

The city has been working to reduce the amount of phosphorus in the lake by constructing rain gardens, re-designing stormwater ponds and installing porous pavement. The trails here have also been enhanced with some additional technical trail features like dirt rollers and berms.

This is a great place for kids and adults alike to enjoy nature and exercise together. There are miles of recreational trails, a picnic area, an accessible playground, swimming beaches and bathrooms onsite. Browse next article.
